My Target Audience

The reason I am researching my target audience is because this will help me see what they like and include any aspects of the things they like and use them in my own video. Also I can see what they do, and also try to make sure it appeals them as they would be the people to buy the music and watch the video. If you don't do some research to find out what they like and do then its hard to appeal to the audience and this is why some artists fail, as they don't target the people who are buying their music, knowing your audience is important.

My target audience are people of the age around 16-19. The reason for this is because the song isn't something younger people can relate to as much as this target audience and also older people usually don't like this type of music, I also think its something you would hear at a party or at a club, so I think this target audience is also suitable, this target audience age is also meant to be going through what's called a 'discovery period' in their life's so this song is sort of suiting that..  I think that single people will relate to this song more than people in a relationship, but I still think people in a relationship can relate to this song, so I think its relates to about 60 to 40 in single and in a relationship. Girls and Boys can both relate to this song, so I think that both will pay attention to the video and both be interested equally as much as each other, and also because its a collaboration of a female and male artist, this will attract both genders.

I have thought about what people this age (16-19) would do and also what they like and dislike, this is to help me with my music video and also creating the artist. If I look at what they like and dislike then it means that I can add them in on the music video to attract them or I can make sure that they have some of these things incorpatered in my artist as they will be the same age.

Males
Hobbies: Males usually like to do things like Sports including Football and Rugby, they also like to go on the internet, especially Social Networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Going to gigs and also concerts. People this age also like to meet up with friends and go out and party.

Music Genres They Listen To: Dance, Rock, Indie, Alternative, Electronic, Drum&Bass

Females
Hobbies: Females usually like to do things like Shopping, Cinema, some like to do sports including Tennis, Volleyball, and also Swimming. They like to go on Social Networking sites like Facebook, Tumblr, and also Twitter. They also like going to concerts and also gigs. They like to also meet up with friends and also party. They like to experiment with make up and style and they also like looking after their appearance.

Music Genres They Listen To; Pop, Dance, R&B

Also looking at what purchases they make will help me with some designs to my music video, then I know I can incorporate these into my video, so for instance if they like drinking alcohol, then I know that maybe I just advertise or add some alcohol into my music video to grab the audiences attention. I think that this is very important and its done within most music video's today is advertising, like for example Beats headphones, people know these are popular so most artists now have these in their videos as they know if they are seen with them then the audience will buy them or think I have them so I must be cool.

Males
Purchases Usually Made: Transport tickets (bus tickets, train tickets), Food, Takeaways, Going out around the town, Clothes (Places like Topman, River Island, and branded clothes like Hollister and Jack Wills), Alcohol, Gym membership, clothing and also equipment for sports.

Females
Purchases Usually Made: Transport tickets, Gig tickets, Clothes (Topshop, River Island, H&M, Miss Selfridge) Jewellery, Alcohol, Food, Beauty Products, Shoes

By looking at all this information it should help me when making my music video, then I can see what to include into it and look at this and think well this gender likes this so I have to add this, it means that I am getting the audience involved in my video, If I added in things that the audience didn't like then they wont like the video and end up not supporting the artist.
