My Chosen Song

When deciding on what song to choose, I found this very hard, I went through many stages to finally choose a song that I thought I could do a music video to. Firstly I thought about the music I like, I didn't want to choose a song that I know I wouldn't like and wouldn't have much background knowledge on, so I knew it would be either a Pop/Dance/R&B/Hip-Hop song, more main stream kind of music. I wanted a fun music video, a video that people could feel happy about, but also have some meaning to it at the same time. One of my favourite artist's is David Guetta, So I took a look at his most recent album, as most of them do have a meaning and they are also fun and upbeat. Here is the track list to his album..
1. Where Them Girls At (Feat. Flo Rida & Nicki Minaj)This song is a good choice because it is really fun, there could be a lot of ideas linked to this and many locations I could use. The bad thing I think about this song is that it doesn't have much meaning, and its abit too fun. I also think that the rapping would be hard to shoot and finding a suitable location would be tough. So I don't think this is a good choice, there is too many negatives. This song also already has a video to it, so I think it would be hard to compare to the video that is already released.
2. Little Bad Girl (Feat. Ludacris & Taio Cruz)This is the second song off the album. The reason this would song would work well would be because its fun, its also again, upbeat and happy, but at the same time I think that its mainly male dominated, its not something that women could get involved in and there isn't much meaning within the song, its just about going to a club and seeing a girl you like, so it would be hard to come up with some good ideas. Again this already has a video to it so it would be hard to not think about this video when creating my own, so I wont be choosing this song for my music video.
3. Turn Me On (Feat. Nicki Minaj)Turn Me On is also an upbeat song, it has female vocals and also some rapping, I thought that this song was a good choice at first but then looking into it I thought the rapping would be hard to think about ideas for, I also think there isn't any good ideas for it and the video would have to be very abstract and this wasn't the idea I had in mind.
4. Sweat (Feat. Snoop Dogg)
This song is something that you would hear in a club, its very dancy and its something that you would hear in a real party atmosphere. There are many good ideas that could go along with this video, but at the same time the lyrics are a little too sexual and think it would be hard to make it less explicit.

5. Without You (Feat. Usher)

Without You is one of the most meaningful songs on the album, it has lots of meaningful lyrics and the song is the slowest on the album. It still has the feel good factor but its abit too meaningful, and there has already been a video for this video so I think this would again influence me.

6. Nothing Really Matters (Feat. Will.I.Am)

I would defiantly not pick this song, the reason is because I think this is the worst song on the album, its too upbeat when it gets to the chorus, and although its has some good ideas to match up to the song to make a music video, I think that I wouldn't enjoy making it because I don't like the song that much.

7. I Can Only Imagine (Feat. Chris Brown & Lil Wayne)

I really like this song, and its one of my favourites on the album. The big issue for me was that it was only male vocals on the song, it doesn't have any female vocals and to me this is important. I wanted to have a girly themed video and for it to have a female lead. I think it would be hard to find a male lead and also it has some rapping in the song which would be hard to do, and it would also be hard to come up with some ideas for the video.

8. Crank It Up (Feat. Akon)

This song isn't the best on the album but it has a good beat to it, it has just male vocals though, which again would be hard to do on the video, I also think that the video would be a little too explicit and also if I didn't do it explicit, then it wouldn't go with the songs lyrics and that's what i think a music video should do.

9. I Just Wanna F**k (Feat. Timbaland & Dev)

I will defiantly not be picking this song, although its a good song, I think that the lyrics are way too explicit. I also think that the ideas for this video wouldn't be very good and have much meaning to them. I don't think this is a good song at all, and there is too much going on in the song meaning there would be in the video making it hard for me to create.

10. Night Of Your Life (Feat. Jennifer Hudson)

Night of your life is a really good song, I think that this should be considered as one of top choices for my music video as it has lots of meaning to it and there could easily be plenty of ideas for this video, its fun, upbeat and could have lots of dancing scenes, I also like the fact that its a female vocalist, and that it could be very empowering. Its also with a big star meaning that it could easily be done, but the vocals could be hard to imitate when making my video as they are so big.

11. Repeat (Feat. Jessie J)

This is such a good song in my opinion on the album and I think it would be good to make a music video for, this is because its fun, has meaning, has female vocals which I wanted anyway, it also can have many ideas that lead up to this. Jessie J is also well known and I can encorperate her a lot in my music video. Its also girly and has a upbeat vibe to it.

12. Titanium (Feat. Sia)
Although I do like this song, I think this is too screechy, there is too much high pitched singing and it wouldbehard to come up with some ideas for this, its too dancey too, I think that when its just music playing with no singing, it would be hard to find something that my artist could do when its just music. I think that the idea behind it would be good, but doing the actual video would be too hard and finding someone with tons of confidence would be hard.



 David Guetta - Repeat (Feat. Jessie J)
Genre: Dance

The song I have chosen to do as my music video is David Guetta - Repeat, featured with Jessie J. The reason I chose this song was because David Guetta is one of my favourite artists, and although Dance is not one of my favourite Genres, it still has a Pop element to it because of Jessie J featuring on it. I also wanted my music video to be colourful, have effects and I wanted it to be fun, so I thought this song fitted my vision very well. This song also hasn't got a music video to it yet, so this means that when im creating the video I wont be thinking about what the artist has already done or comparing mine to theirs. These are the lyrics to the song.

I have also done the timing's for the song, these are so I know what do in each shot and how long the shot will last, this is only rough and won't be exact, but it helps me when doing the filming. This will also help me with the storyboard, and creating the ideas for the music video.
