In my music video there is only going to be one person in it, this way the audience don't get too confused and this is what I wanted my music video to be about, just this one person. I have decided to chose my friend Laura, as I think she has the confidence to do it and also has the look I wanted in my music video. I also only wanted one person in the music video because in most of David Guetta's music video's he always has the main artist as the focus, so I think that having just Laura as the main attention in the video will be good not only for the genre but also the audience and them recognizing her as an artist

Jessica JJ is an upcoming artist, who has only just started in the music business. She has been around for a while but more in the behind the scenes of music, including writing and also producing songs for other artists. One of the unique things about Jessica is the fact that the artist David Guetta, spotted her at an unsigned acts night in Camden Town and thought about making a new record label and having Jessica as his first act.
David Guetta is one of the worlds best DJ's so Jessica snatched up the opportunity and also had her first hit single with him called 'Laser-Light', now 'Repeat' is the second single and she is ready to storm both the UK and the US. She has already made friends with the likes of Rihanna and also Katy Perry, so you should be seeing much more of her in 2012.

Test Shots
The first test shot I did was of the busy street I think I am going to use, the reason I have done this is too see if there is a lot of traffic down this street and if its safe to use the middle part of the road for my video
The second test shot I did was of the background I wanted to use, to see if its clear enough on the camera and okay to use for my artist to stand in front of and perform.
In the third test shot I did, this was in the middle of the road, again to see if it was safe and how it looked on the camera. I think that the traffic will look good in the dark when these get shot properly. I also think that the busy traffic will look good on camera, but only if it is busy.

Album Art, Digipack & Digital Booklet Anaylsis
This is the digipack for Rihanna's album 'LOUD', this is one of Rihanna's most successful albums. This includes the both the DVD and also the CD, it includes the outside front cover/album artwork and also a little poster that's an added extra. It also shows the inside which by analysing will help me with my own digipack.
The front cover is an extreme close up of Rihanna's face with perfectly done makeup on, her hair is very vibrant and it stands out to her red lipstick. The white writing stands out against the picture so we know the artist and what she stands for. This cover would stand out if it was in a shop, and it is what the album is called 'LOUD'. Her music has also changed and it works with the album title and cover, in all her music video's she has red hair and looks vibrant and also loud. I also think in general as a person Rihanna is loud in the way that she exposes her self to her fans, she makes points by what she wears and she also likes to make sure that she talks and always communicates with her fans in a loud way like through Twitter and also when she is on stage, so her album really works well with what she believes in as an artist.
The inside of the digipack is an image of Rihanna laid near a Rose Bush. This again works well with the front cover and the main colour here is Red, which means love and passion which her songs are all about. This is a new girly look for Rihanna as her album before, was Rated R and this was more of a Rock album for her, but she likes to change her style. I think the inside is good as when the CD's are put into place, they don't cover the image of her face, and so when you open the CD up she is the first thing we see. I also think the roses represent love again, so there is a theme on going throughout the whole digipack.
The CD design is of a lighter pink rose, this fits the whole CD and again works well with the rest of the album. They both have the same design and I think that this is good because although it could be hard to tear the CD apart from the DVD, it's still all together and you would know the difference as the audience due to the font and what it says on the CD not just from the design.
This is a very well known album, not only from the amount of sales but also from the picture. The designs are even on t-shirts in Topman that men are purchasing to wear, which is promoting the album showing that the design must be good to be on a t-shirt and it doing well. Also the picture is on most of her tour mechandise for the LOUD tour, its an easy design to encorperate into other things like hoodies and also posters.

Location and Props Ideas
I have looked around different locations and taken some pictures of possible settings for my music video, by doing this it will help me when it comes to filming and I will be able to see what might work best and what might not work within the video. I also have to think that I will be adding some effects to my music video to make it fit in with the Genre, so when looking at these setting's it best to make sure that I think about what effects I could use and what might look good.
Location: Wyke Sixth Form College
This is a room within the college where photo's are processed, Its quite a small compact space and there isn't much room to move but I still think that this red lighting could work well for my music video, and also because it adds a party vibe to the video, I also think that with the right filming techniques that this could work well and look really different to other video's. If this setting is in my music video then it wont be for the duration but this would work well for the party scenes, making sure that I filmed the parts correctly and made them match the video.
Location: Wyke Sixth Form College
This is the outside of the college, the reason I was thinking of using this location is because I was thinking of showing the artists usual routine in the video and this would be the everyday part of life in the video, I could use the whole college including the outside and all the classrooms and buildings. This could work well in my opinion but I do think it would be hard as the only time to film would be when there is students around and these could ruin the filming.
Location: Home
I think that this is a good location to film lots of scenes for my music video, the reason for this is because of the white blind, I think this will be good for filming scenes in which I want to incorporate some graphics into, It will give me a good blank canvas into adding extras to it and making sure it looks like a real music video. I also like the fact it just likes an average everyday bedroom, its not too fancy, and I don't want my music video to look too over the top as that is not what the song is about. I will film scenes during the night too with the blind fully down to make sure that the effects look better on the camera as I think daylight will be too bright and wouldn't work well in the video.
Location: Boothferry Road
This location in my opinion will be great for some dancing night scenes, the reason is because there is this green grass part in the middle of the road meaning that my artist could stand in the middle and I could film her, then there would be cars going by with bright lights and I could add plenty of effects. I also think that outside around here will be good for walking scenes because its such a busy road and it also looks full and like a normal street.
Audience Research
The audience is very important within the music business, and this is how artists become successful is through the audience buying their music and putting them in the charts, and also going to the artists concerts and gigs. Without the audience there would not be a music artist. So I have decided to make sure that my artist knows what my target audience like and think about music today. Their fans are what makes them popular so their opinions on music and how its promoted is important to make sure they promote their music in the way the audience wants them to.
I have done some poll's at the right hand side of my blog, these are to see how people find out about new music video's today, by looking at this it's helping me see where to place my artist, so if people are finding out about new music videos on YouTube, then I know that my artist should promote YouTube more and try and get the audience to go on YouTube to find out about them, so for instance in the Magazine Advert I will do for my artist, I could put 'Check Me Out On YouTube', this way the audience will know where to look out from new things from my artist.
I have also created these poll's so I can check them regularly and make sure that I can keep making changes to my video, so for example, one of the questions is.. Which Is Your Favourite Jessie J video, so if the answer is Price Tag, then I know to watch this video and get some inspiration from it, maybe use some of the same conventions then this way, I know my target audience will enjoy my video.
Questionnaires are also important, so I have asked 20 people, these people where all from different background's but was within my target audience age. I only asked people in my target audience age because these are the only people's opinion's I care about, asking other people would only confuse what I should do in my music video. I have also asked random people both boy and girl and kept it anonymous, I didn't need to know names just their age and what they thought.
The first question I asked my target audience was if they enjoyed music video's, the reason for me asking this is because if a lot of people don't like music video's, then this would maybe make me change my idea completely, so maybe do a film trailer, or change my target audience. Here are the results:
The majority of my audience said that they don't like longer music video's and I asked one person why they didn't, they said "I think that longer music video's can drag on and I really just want them to get on with the song, I find it boring as well, and sometimes the dialogue can ruin the song", so I didn't want this strong opinion on my music video as I also felt the same from my point of view who is creating the video.
The third question I thought about asking was to see how many times they visit YouTube a week, although their answer could only be rough, I want to see if they even visit this website often because if they don't this could mean changing the website I use to publish my video.
This was my most varied answer, showing that different people have different opinion's. The most popular answer was 4-6 times a week which is in-between, this is still quite a few times to visit the website though, 10+ times is also quite a popular answer, so I think YouTube is still my firm choice on where to upload my video once its finished.
By creating just a few questions, I can look back at these and they should help me in creating a better music video that hopefully my target audience will enjoy.

The results was that 18 people out of 20 said they do enjoy watching music video's, it was only 2 people that said they don't which means that I should defiantly be creating a music video, now knowing that my target audience do like watching them and actually enjoy watching them.

The reason for me asking this was because if the target audience liked longer music video's then I thought that I should do my music video a little longer, and also add some dialogue into my own video.

Make-Up and Outfit Ideas
Styling and what the artist is wearing is very important when making a music video. It's one of the first things you see on the artist, and you want this to be instantly recognisable, so if you see something it will remind you of that artist. In my music video, the Make Up is the main focus and not the clothes, because there aren't too many long or medium shots, but I am still going to research and also make sure I know what styling I could use if I do in the end decide to add in some shots late notice or if I change my mind and do need long or medium shots in the video.
I really like this look for my music video, I like the bright lipstick and also the clothes that Taylor Momsen is wearing. I think the look works really well and goes with the Genre I am doing. The black leather jacket is more of a Rock theme but I think that mixing it with the hot pink skirt makes it more any Genre. The lipstick will look great for the close up shots of the lips, and the rest of the outfit will look really good for dancing scenes. I need to find the right person who will suit this look, and who also has this effect to their hair. I don't want my artist to look too done up, I want them to look quite casual, and clothes that normal people would wear and not clothes that just celebrities would wear, this is because the target audience would be a young age and I wouldn't want it to be too explicit because of the age of the audience. Although I want my music video to be colourful, I don't want too many colours on the artists outfit as the colours will be seen in other parts of the video (e.g graphics) and not just on what the artist is wearing. Again this is just an idea, but I still really like this look and if I don't use all aspects of it, I will use most because I think it suits the song well.
I also really like this look too. Again this is using that same time of outfit, where there is one main focus of a colour, and the rest of the outfit is black. I think that this really stands out. I also think that the make up is good, its quite a natural look, but it still has the potential to make the artist look good, the lips again are matching the shirt and are very bright which is what I need in my music video is bright lips. The hair is something that I would change, I want my artist to have quite long hair, this is because it's whats in style at the moment and also will look better on scenes in the video, for example when dancing, it would look better to have long flowing hair rather than short and boring. Also this is yet another outfit that the audience could copy and it's not too much of what a celebrity would wear but its not too simple for something they wouldn't wear at all. I overall like this look and hope to get a look like this for my music video.
There is many types of Make Up that I could have for my music video, and I am still deciding on which one to use. Here are some examples of Eye Make Up that I might use in the video.
This is another eye make up that I think looks really good and stands out, I think the blue makes the rest of the eye stand out and also there is lots of lashes, and this makes them bold. The eyebrows also are very bold so this will look really good on camera. This will be good for my extreme close up again and the audience can easily copy this look.
This eye make up is very bold with the eyelashes and also the eyeliner. The reason I like this look and considering it for my music video is because I think it stands out, and also on my storyboard, the idea is to start filming an extreme close up of the eyes, so they can't just be boring and plain, they have to stand out.
I also like this eye Make Up, the reason is because the wing really makes up the eye and I also like the yellow glitter on the eye line. This will look really good and stand out on the music video on the shot of the eyes going down to the lips. I think a bright coloured lipstick would work well
This eye make up is the most colourful, I think that this would work extremely well with my music video and the colours would match the theme really well. I want to use something very similar to this in my own music video. I think It would be hard to find a lipstick that would match though.
The reason I have chosen Katy Perry's make up is because she is known for having very colourful make up, and I want my artist to be known for their extravagant look. I am also going to research what lip make up she uses this is because the lips are a main part of my music video. So I need to see what stands out and what looks good, so I'm sticking with Katy Perry.
This lipstick is very natural, it doesn't really stand out, but I still think that in my own music video it could still work, this is because I still want my person to be seen as natural. I also think that if someone has big lips it can still work and look good on camera.
I also like this lip colour, it's bright and fun and that's what the song and music video will be about. I also have an idea of painting my artists face green around the mouth area, and the green paint will act as a green screen, then the image on screen would just be moving lips and I think this colour would work well with that idea.

Script/Screenplay
This is the script/screenplay for my music video, this involves what my artist will be doing and what will be going on at certain times of the song. If there is any dialogue then this will be mentioned too.
(0-14seconds) The start of the song is just flashes of colour, red, black and white, these will flash at a fast pace, and include the words Repeat, when stated in the song. (14-21seconds) When the words start to the song, the camera will be at an extreme close up of the eyes, it will then lower down to the lips in which they will mime the lyrics to the song. (21seconds) Will show a graphic of a black hole where the camera will zoom into the black hole leading into the next clip. (29seconds) This will be an extreme close up of the the artists mouth licking their lips, which will then dissolve into the next clip (32seconds) of a graphic story book which will open and have the words to the song on the pages. The previous shot will then dissolve into the next shot (35seconds) which again is just a black hole but this time, a different coloured background. (39seconds) There will be an extreme close up of the artist putting their finger against their lips, this will then cut to the next shot (42seconds) of a graphic house, first there will be one person stood outside, then two, then three, all will be close up's. Then there will be again a graphic of a zoom into a bedroom window where then at (48seconds) you see an extreme close up of a graphic picture frame on a wall in which was in the bedroom. (49 seconds) is the miming to the lyrics which is an extreme close up, this will be quite a long clip but I will add effects and also maybe a dissolved background to add in some meaning. At (1min4sec-1min12sec) this will all be dancing scenes, the camera shots will be varied, and it will all be cut, these will be set in various locations and have lights flashing to add some effect to the shot. (1min12sec-1min20sec) there will be again the lyrics appearing on screen, these will be graphics. (1min20sec) will be a graphic of a heart breaking which will last two seconds. There will be a image of a computer screen which will type the word mistake, highlight it and then right click and press undo. Again the lyrics will then flash on the screen again, all close up as seen before. (1min40sec) there will be miming from the artist, same as before there will be a background or dissolve and its an extreme close up. Dancing scenes again too. (1min48sec) there will be a graphic of a question mark. (1min50sec-1min56sec) there will be bottles on a table which will then be spilt and the liquid will run all over the table. The camera will be unsteady to show the drink is effecting the scene. (2mins) dancing will start again, the lighting will be bright and this time only a couple of people will be dancing. (2min4sec-2min 40sec) will all be graphics and they will all be steady and an extreme close up with just cuts, the first graphic is a stop sign, then into an eject sign, traffic lights flashing red. A graphic of a thought bubble will then appear, which will have a boy in the thought bubble. Again then an amber traffic light, a record button just plain red, traffic light flashing green like the other graphic shots explained. Then of a font that says go with moving arrows to show the direction in which it will be going. Just like before in the scene, its the house graphic where first its one person, then two then three, all exactly the same as before. Then an extreme close up of the artists lips with a graphic of the words coming out. At (2min40sec-2min47sec) dancing again starts with a flash to a speaker where its vibrating to show music is playing, no sound though. Lighting will flash and there will be some scenes where there is lots of people but it will then cut to where there is just maybe a couple of people dancing. (2min47sec-2min53sec) again is the extreme close up of the lyrics shown up on screen flashing. (2min53sec) will be a shot of people dancing again but in a different location, maybe the green room then when editing the video I can add some effects. (2min56sec) There will be a broken heart graphic again, and at (2min59sec) balloons with the letters that spell repeat will be let loose, the camera will zoom in and then let go and track them going up. (3min2sec) there will be the letters to the word Repeat being spelt out. At the end there will be a flashing love heart which will fade until the end to show what the video is all about.
