Feedback
I asked for some feedback of my digipack front cover. This was to make sure that I got the conventions right and I also wanted someone's opinion as I wanted it to look and work well with my artist. I asked my teacher John what he thought and he liked the initial idea, but thought that the conventions wasnt right. As nearly all of the digipacks have the artist on the front cover, and maybe on the inside they have a graphic image, so I have decided to take this advice on board and take some photo's of the artist and add them into the front cover, I was going to do this anyway but not put them on the cover and maybe instead on the back but this now has made me change my mind and made me think that if they dont like it then the audience wont like it either and looking at most digipacks its clear they have the artist on the cover, so taking this feedback in and changing it should help me.

Idea's & Photo's For My Ancillery Text
One of my idea's for the CD cover and digipack was just some lips, as this is what I wanted to be in my music video, so I took some test shots to see what this could look like, and these was the best pictures we could get. The lighting didn't seem to work, and I tried multiple cameras to see which would give the best look.
I thought about adding some effects or maybe playing around in 'Photoshop' and 'Paint-Shop Pro', this way I thought it might fix the photo's, and I thought that instead of scrapping this idea straight away, it was best to try and see if these would look good still and also make them match my music video. So I started playing around with the effects and I think that this might work well on the digipack/ CD cover, I think if I collaged them well and added in some more effects and great fonts, the cover could work well.
Here are some of the effects that I thought did not look too bad. I think that they match the song really well and because the song is a dance song, the colours really stand for the Dance genre, as within most Dance genre video's, they have a splash of colour, like again on the David Guetta cover, he has a bright red background. After I looked at these edit's, it gave me some inspiration to do some graphic design and add in the Union Jack flag, as my artist is British and representing UK music, like the artist Jessie J does. Here is the Flag that I used. I thought the design also added that edge, that is a little rock and roll but with a few colourful effects I thought I could make it more for the Genre of Dance.
After all of the effects that I did on the pictures on the lips, I ended up with adding in the flags too, and also creating four images like in the style of Andy Warhol for some inspiration so it was like Pop art, as my artist is Pop/Dance, but put my own spin on things. I added in bright colours and also negative effects too, as in Dance music, there is many negative colours and effects, like strobe lighting and also within their DJ sets. Here is the image I come up with (This is without any text, and wouldn't be the finished design)
In the end I found it very difficult to find a font that would work well with this image, I also didn't think that it represented the artist that well after all, and thought that it was more of a Rock and Roll look for a CD Cover and didn't think it suited the Genre too well, so I have stopped working with the images of the lips, as there is nothing I don't think I can do to the images to really make it suit my artist without making it look like a Rock genre.
After all of my rough idea's and attempting to get a good CD Cover for my artist, I have had to change my idea again. Here is the original image (Left) as you can see there is a man at the bottom of the image, so Instagram helped me crop this out, and also the edited image (Right) I prefer the edited image much more, as it more bright and also its around the right size for a CD Cover.
After cropping the image I added it to Photoshop and made sure that the size of the image was okay to use as a background and was a good size that would look good, so equal dimensions. I then decided to focus on the font. I chose this font as I thought it was more Dance and went for the digital look which is what the album is about, it also looked good with the background I thought. Here is the original font before I added some effects.

I then thought that if I added this to the background that it would be too boring for the song that is meant to be a feel good party song, so I thought about what image I could add to the background to make it more exciting and fit the Genre that little bit more than it does. I thought about the club scene, as this is sort of where the background image was taken and thought about a disco ball. I found a great image of a disco-ball and added this to the background. Here is the source for the picture http://barblissseoul.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/disco-ball.jpg. After all of the editing here is what the text looked like in the end.
After all of the text editing, I just added them to the middle image and added some simple text for the name of the album so that the name of the artist really stood out to the audience buying the album. I also added in some boxes to make sure they knew that this was the name of the album.
This is what it turned out looking like....
